The MK Infrared Solarium does more than help dry your horse’s coat. Its long-wave infrared technology delivers deep, targeted warmth to support muscle preparation, relaxation, blood circulation, and recovery after exercise.

Important to know: Infrared warms the horse directly, not the surrounding air. It supports muscle preparation and recovery; coat drying is a secondary benefit.
Construction & Components
Construction & Installation
MK solariums are designed for plug-and-play operation using a standard 230 V connection on a dedicated circuit. No specialised electrical installation is required. All mounting hardware and a step-by-step installation manual are included, allowing many customers to complete the installation themselves.
Available accessories:
- Remote-controlled lift: Adjusts the solarium height during use
- Wall bracket: Provides a fixed installation in a grooming or washing area
- Coin machine: Suitable for shared stables and equestrian centres
- Spare lamps
Recommended hanging height: Maintain at least 50 cm between the lamps and the horse’s withers. The optional lift allows the height to be adjusted for different horses.
Winter drying guidance
For horses coming in wet after washing or training in cold conditions:
- Remove excess water using a sweat scraper or towel.
- Towel-dry the coat to remove as much remaining moisture as possible.
- Place the horse under the solarium for approximately 30 minutes.
- Use the solarium in a sheltered, draft-free area. High side walls can help retain warmth.
The solarium provides therapeutic warmth and supports partial coat drying, but it is not designed to fully dry a very wet coat on its own.

No, the main purpose is the infrared therapy, not drying. You can use it in winter to help warm a towel-dried horse, but it will not fully dry the coat, as infrared heat targets the underlying tissues.
